Community-Based Model

A Community-Based Education Model rests on the belief that we need to support our students more holistically. Whether that be social services provided for students or providing for families more broadly, there are ties to a Child-Parent Center model. However, this model entails further development of social and life skills combined with subsidized food, health, and/or other services for the children and potentially their parents.

The idea of a Community-Based model rests on parents needing to be supported as much as their children in order for students to grow. If students in neighborhoods with less funding and resources are not receiving stable support at home then it impacts their education and futures in ways that are out of their control.

By providing support for families, students can have a thriving environment in and out of the classroom. This model can serve districts looking to provide services where their community may be lacking, but all districts could do with a neighbor to look out for them in the form of their local school.
